Shoes
I'll start with shoes! I own quite a few I use in my wardrobe already, many of which are from brands that can be found at the mall. Of course, styles change and won't be available for quite as long in everyday stores, but if you are always on the look out, you can find some really good finds that can be used in Lolita, particularly classic and gothic.
These are the only pair of Lolita specific shoes I own so far. They're from the brand AnTaiNa, and I haven't had a chance to wear them yet...I'm afraid to wear them with everyday Lolita, so I may save them for meet-ups only until I get a few more pairs. XD
These shoes are the ones I mentioned in my first wardrobe post. They didn't end up matching as well as I'd like with the red border print Bodyline skirt, but they go really lovely with my Anna House OP. :] They're off-brand, from Bongo, a brand which I think can be found in Payless, but I actually bought these at work. I highly recommend trying out thrift stores for cute, cheap shoes, especially because they tend to carry certain, c slightly older styles (as well as newer ones) that are suitable for Lolita, but not around in normal stores much anymore.
I feel really proud about these! Off-brand again, though I can't remember the name of their brand off the top of my head. They just scream Rococo to me, and I feel they could be used with a lot of more elegant coords, less in the sweet substyle. I also got these at work.
Also got these at work. I will have to come back and post the brand names of all of these. I haven't used these quite yet in a coord, but I think they will come in handy one day.
Apparently, I have a thing with brown shoes. XD All of these, save for the last pair on the right in the third picture, were bought at work. I am really excited about using the white flowered flats in a coord. The ribbon laces in the brown boots on the left side of the middle picture actually came from a different pair of shoes I bought a few years ago, but they fit so well with these boots!
Bags
I only have a couple of bags so far...again, something I'd like to accumulate more of!
This is the matching bag for the one Bodyline skirt I bought. I'm hoping someday, when I can afford brand, I can buy matching totes with pieces I buy.
Two more bags I bought at work. Not a whole lot to say about these, but they get the job done until I can get more.
Jewelry
As of right now, I don't own any brand jewelry, but I have quite a collection of jewelry from other brands, so far. About half of what I own came from work.
I keep some of my jewelry in this cute little music box that I got some time ago, back in high school!
Again, most of these are from work, but a lot of them are pieces I've collected over the years, either as a gift from people, of just buying them. I keep my stud earrings in the little white, porcelain box on the top left, and I currently use the little macaron box on the top right for my fake eyelashes (at least until I have too many to fit in there). I'm going to feature pictures of my stuff in large groups, so if you have a question about a piece or where I got it, let me know.
My larger earrings, rings, and brooches. I think the only ones of note from certain brands are in the first picture: the earrings that are blue heart dangles, the larger dangles right above them, and the much smaller cupcake dangles to the left of the large, clear and blue teardrop dangles on the right side of the photo - all of these re Betsey Johnson (but bought at work). A good portion of the other items are from Forever 21/work.
Next will be my necklaces. I keep most of my necklaces in this cute little wristlet (it reminds me of a magical girl item, haha!), in individual little plastic bags so they don't get tangled.
Annnnnnd my necklaces! Dah-dahhhh! The bunny necklace and bear necklace in the first photo are Betsey Johnson necklaces I got at work. The time turner I bought in a Harry Potter shop in Salem, MA. The Elsa necklace I bought from a shop on Etsy called TilTheLastPetalFalls. A lot of the slightly dressier pieces were gifts from family.
I will have to upload a better picture some other time, but I thought I'd include the brooch I mentioned in part I that I attached to my red Anna House OP. I bought this at a cute little antique shop/road stop in Bennington, Vermont called Camelot Antique Center and Furniture Gallery. If you live in the New England area or Vermont, I highly recommend going there and checking out their jewelry selection. They also have a lot of vintage and retro items, including but not limited to clothing (like silk gloves, scarves, even some parasols! I bought one of my prom dresses there - I will have to post a picture sometime), memorabilia, books, and just about everything you can think of in an antique shop. They also have a cute little snack and candy shop attached to it. The prices tend to vary, but this place is really a treat to explore, even if you can't buy anything there. I may do a longer post about them after I return to New York State, it's just that cool a place.
Miscellanous Items
After this section, I'll show off my bows and hair pieces, but the items in this section are things that don't really fit in any place else in this post. There are also a few things that continue in the vein of things I bought at Camelot.
My parasol! I only have one right now, but the one I have is a real treasure of mine. It's an antique (not sure around what time it was made) that I bought several years ago at Camelot. I think I initially bough it planning to use it for Lolita, and I'm glad I kept it.
Another item I acquired on a visit to Camelot. I actually wore this with the dress I mentioned earlier to prom. It's pretty delicate, but I feel it fits well with Lolita.
I'm not entirely sure I'll use the garter for any future coords, but I bought it on sale at Claire's years ago, I believe. It might be able to double as a choker? XD The gloves I bought at Camelot, again, for my prom dress, however, they sadly have a couple of runs in their silk, now! :( I had to squeeze my hands into them even back in high school, but at this point, I think I may need to retire them very soon.
The black and gold item is a hair clip of a little chocolate platter, a piece I bought from Sheena's Bella Bows (the store that sells the chocolate rabbit ears I linked to in part I of my wardrobe posts). I bought it because it ended up fitting really well with my Red Queen OP. She makes some truly beautiful bonnets and head dress pieces, I highly recommend browsing her wares! :D
Just the detachable bows from my Infanta OP, a Bodyline skirt, and a Bodyline JSK.
Hair Bows and Hair Pieces
I really want to acquire some bonnets and other head pieces, and also some wigs, but so far I have a fairly sizable collection of bows and a few other pieces!
The top right item is the matching bow for my Anna House OP, and the item on the top left is the choker that came with the dress. The bottom left head bow is the matching bow I bought for the Infanta OP - the very bottom right hair clip came with it. The cupcake hair bow is also Infanta, but was sold seperately.
The brown twist bow on the left is a Bodyline item I got in one of their sales - I got it as a make-shift matching head piece for my chocolate Annd House JSK, until I buy the chocolate rabbit ears or bonnet. The two hair flowers in the top right are from Claire's, as well as the holly berry hair clip. The headband in the middle I bought at work, and the three felt hairpins in the bottom middle are handmade of my own creation. ^^
I bought these earmuffs from Bodyline, in the same sale as the brown twist bow and pink cardigan (mentioned in part I). I haven't been able to use them yet, but I am excited to put them to use next winter!
I'm still not sure if I will use this flower crown for any coords, as it looks a little bit cheap. I bought it at the Sterling Rannaissance Festival several years ago.
And lastly, my bow collection! I want to buy a bunch from Rococo Soul in the near future, but for now, I have all of these ones I bought at Claire's, Icing, and Forever 21. Saxon is getting a little harder to find lately, as mint and pink and coral are getting more popular this season, but pastel accessories in general are rather easy to find in regular stores, lately. Stock up if you can!
So there you have it. As you saw, there were a lot more off-brand items featured in this post. I hope this was a little bit helpful to at least a few people. I also hope some of you will stick around with me as I continue to build my wardrobe! <3
